Outsourcing for expertise
The Premier Travel Group was established in 1936 and are experts in designing affordable, tailor-made holidays through the Premier Holidays business and advising customers through its travel agency with 27 branches across East Anglia and Southern England. What they weren’t experts in was IT.
As a growing business, the management knew that they weren’t using technology to its full advantage. They understood that to deliver continued growth in their business, they would need to find a new way to source the expertise they needed.
At the end of 2023, the business approached ILUX to conduct a full audit of all their infrastructure and report on a large scale digital transformation project that would align their IT infrastructure with their business objectives.
The audit investigated not only their IT systems but also (and equally important) how their people felt about their existing IT and technology.
ILUX put together a report that gave the Group a clear strategy for improving employee and client experience, creating better budgetary control, and improving processes across the business.
As a result of the report, the company started working with ILUX in January 2024 with a large digital transformation project for the group.
A dedicated team of technical experts now works alongside a small internal IT department and manages all of Premier Travel Group’s IT infrastructure. ILUX has developed a strategy to build a reliable IT platform that offers improved connectivity, a better employee experience, and, ultimately, an improved client experience. The strategy promotes a foundation built on harnessing the power of technology.
Paul Waters, Managing Director of Premier Travel Group, said: “It was important for us to work with a true partner. ILUX have become part of the team and work like colleagues rather than suppliers. ILUX delivers a genuine return on our investment and gives us the confidence to know that we are implementing the right technology to help our business grow.
It means that we can focus on delivering great customer experiences and know that the technology will make it as easy as possible for our clients to buy from us.”
Simon Page, Chief Commercial Officer for ILUX, commented: “Working with The Premier Travel Group is hugely rewarding because they understand the value of technology and what it can do for their business. By understanding their long-term strategic goals, we are developing a clear roadmap that delivers benefits to their staff and customers alike.”
